Our Story

Built from the shared experience of

Voro was born from a simple truth: meeting new people is meant to be exciting and low pressure — and finding your people is easier when you don't have to do it alone.

We built the platform we wish had existed.

How We Got Here

Every generation rebuilds how people meet.

Courtney and Holly both moved to new cities as adults — new jobs, new neighborhoods, and the exciting (if occasionally overwhelming) task of building a social life from the ground up.

What they noticed pretty quickly: everything is easier with a friend by your side. The run club you'd been meaning to try, the neighborhood bar you kept walking past, the group chat you joined but never showed up for — none of it felt as approachable solo as it did with even one familiar face.

The problem wasn't a lack of things to do. Cities are full of communities, events, and people worth knowing. The problem was the on-ramp. There was no cohesive way to plug in as a group, discover what was happening locally, and go do it together.

That's Voro. A group-first social platform built around the way friendships actually form: through shared experiences, familiar faces, and showing up to things together.

Younger generations are lonelier than ever.
02
Dating apps are too high-pressure & friend-making apps are often awkward and unengaging.
03
Meeting people in real life feels intimidating and inaccessible.

What We Believe

Connection happens through doing things together.

Every design decision at Voro comes back to one question: does this make showing up in real life feel easier? These are the principles that guide us.

🌍

Real Life First

The app is a tool, not the destination. Everything we build is designed to get you off your phone and into a room with people you want to be around.

🤝

Groups Over Profiles

Shared experiences beat cold intros every time. Whether it's a run club, a watch party, or a creative meetup — showing up together is always better than showing up alone.

🏘️

Community Over Content

We're not a social media feed. We're not optimizing for followers. We measure success by how many people connect in real life and meet new people.
